Hundreds of dead fish found in a river in Santa Catarina, Brazil

The Jaraguaense Environmental Foundation (Fujama) found on Wednesday (11) that over 100 kg of dead fish float in Rio Cerro, in Jaragua do Sul, Santa Catarina in the North. It said water samples were collected to identify the cause of the destruction. The report should be out in 10 days.
The complaint was made by residents of Rio Cerro neighborhood Tuesday night (10). Earlier on Wednesday, technicians went to the place and gathered three different sample types River. In the spring of water, wastewater industries and homes in the area were collected. As Fujama, the dead fish were not removed from the water as the river passes through an arterial runoff process, where animals do not accumulate in the margins. The Rio Cerro makes confluence with the Rio Jaragua. Dead species are mapped minnows, tilapia, catfish, Mandim and yams. All fish are freshwater natural. The agency also reported that this is not the first time that schools are found dead in the river. In 2005, a ton of animals was intoxicated and died. At the time, Fujama could not identify what caused the contamination.
