As the world shakes and trembles, as evil continues to escalate, we shall remain strong. For the Christian, ours is not to fear what is in or coming upon the world. For God has given to us His power.
2 Timothy 1:7
“For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.”
We need to remember just who it is that we serve, and what He has done for us. The Lord gives us strength and power to overcome and to perform His will. We have been given authority over the evil ones.
Luke 10:19-20
“Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you. 20 Nevertheless do not rejoice in this, that the spirits are subject to you, but rather rejoice because your names are written in heaven.”
God has given to us much more than His power to overcome. The Lord is good, and all who believe in Him and place their trust in Him have been given “all” things which pertain to life and godliness. We as Christians are partakers of His divine nature. Let us give thanks to the Lord for our salvation and eternal life!
2 Peter 1:2-4
“Grace and peace be multiplied to you in the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord, 3 as His divine power has given to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him who called us by glory and virtue, 4 by which have been given to us exceedingly great and precious promises, that through these you may be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.”
