
JACOBABAD: At least 25 people were wounded when a blast on railway track hit a passenger train near Jacobabad city of Sindh, leading to derailment of four bogies, Samaa reported Thursday.
According to police and rescue officials, the explosion hit Khushhal Khan Khattak Express near Dilmurad Railway Station in Jacobabad district bordering Balochistan.
The train was heading towards Peshawar from Karachi.
Police said more a dozen passengers were injured when the blast derailed last four coaches of the train, damaging the rail track, suspending railway traffic on both up and down tracks.
The injured were shifted to civil hospital Jacobabad as personnel of Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS) and law-enforcement agencies rushed to the site.
The powerful explosion created a 7-foot wide crater in the ground, police said. – Samaa
